![]() Text boxes allow you to add text or images inside of them and then move those boxes around, between, or within documents. Fortunately, there are a few simple methods you can use to insert a text box in Google Docs. I am looking for this feature because I would like to do some actions whenever a new page is added to the document. Google doesn’t make adding text boxes in Google Docs as obvious to do as with other word processing programs. But all I get is NUMPAGES as output instead of number of pages. I have tried to access it getting the text attribute of num_pages_run as pg.text. The page numbering on pages 1-4 reads of 5, of 5, of 5, and. For example, I have a four page document with a form on the fifth page. Problem is, the total page count still includes the forms. I do use section breaks and clear the page numbering in the footer for the forms. I receive the Page number in format of Page x of y.īut when I try to access the value of 'y' for total number of pages, I could not do it. I use the Page X of Y page numbering format. This also helps in ensuring that the pages in your document are read in the correct order when it is printed. ![]() InstrText = create_element('w:instrText')Ĭreate_attribute(instrText, 'xml:space', 'preserve')Ĭreate_attribute(fldChar2, 'w:fldCharType', 'end')Ĭreate_attribute(t2, 'xml:space', 'preserve')Ĭreate_attribute(fldChar3, 'w:fldCharType', 'begin') Displaying page numbers in a multi-page document can be useful when you need to keep track of all the pages. ![]() Paragraph.alignment = WD_PARAGRAPH_ALIGNMENT.CENTERĬreate_attribute(t1, 'xml:space', 'preserve')Ĭreate_attribute(fldChar1, 'w:fldCharType', 'begin') I am learning Python-docx and I am using this solution to add page number as given on stackoverflow by Dalal def create_element(name):ĭef create_attribute(element, name, value): ![]()
